Asheville, North Carolina
Asheville is a blank slate and open book. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, it has only been home to small and scattered groups of supernatural communities, and at the current time it is leaderless and quiet. It might be for this lack that has made it such a sudden hotspot for those individuals seeking to avoid the government's new watchful eye; the last year has seen werewolves in particular on the upswing, and though there has yet to be a pack established, the time to get the animals in check is quickly approaching. Joining them is an influx of vampires and witches both, not quite as desperate to flee but perhaps looking to do so in advance, before the FBI surely uncovers them and cracks down just as hard.
A beautiful walking city set low in the mountains, Asheville has attracted an odd assortment of residents, from old farmers and woodsmen who made the once-small-town their home, to modern merchants and investors who have seen the growing city as an opportunity. It has given rise to a collection of taphouses and music rooms, a sprawling assortment of eateries, and kitschy boutiques that would almost seem out of place in the rustic setting if not for the youthful community that has grown up around them.
Playing in Asheville
There is no true supernatural society that has found a home yet in Asheville. Though numbers are growing, there is no organization, and no one is in charge; this can be dangerous. Fights and scuffles over territory are becoming more likely to occur, and it is only a matter of time before some structure emerges, or the whole down suffers for it.
Players are encouraged to use this to their advantage by meeting new characters and developing the eventual community and setting. Someone must emerge from the rabble as a bastion of order, or those who have fled to Asheville to stay in hiding will find themselves even more at risk than before.
Characters who are not so inclined to willingly join the fold may find themselves at odds with the community; perhaps they actively work against it, or are frequent instigators in turf wars and territory scuffles.
