To create a character here on Low Sun, please first read over all guidelines we have laid out for this universe and board. With those in mind, we ask that you look over the following information before posting a profile:
-Please pick a unique name. If you would like to use a name for a character that is already taken, you may ask that character's player for permission.
-Provide a profile that allows other players to get a feel for your character. There's no requirements on how much, or even what, you have to write, but a sample outline for you to follow is located here. Please do not attempt to play a character without a completed profile.
-Make sure your character is fairly balanced for play, particularly if it is an alternate species. Exceptions are always welcome, but no one wants to play with a character who's an all-powerful serial killer sociopath who is also a dinosaur. Remember that roleplaying is about interaction.
-Make sure your character fits into the world. Werewolves that run around murdering folks in broad daylight would be killed - so if you want to have that in your background, you'd better have a good excuse! For more information on the setting, please see the Setting and Storyline section.
I posted a profile - now what?
Go ahead and start playing! If you're curious about something - an item in their history that may need approval, or if your species will be accepted - you may want to wait until a mod has a chance to look it over before jumping in. You are also always welcome to ask a moderator in advance if a quality would be acceptable; this can help speed along the acceptance process.
Your profile will then be read by the mods and either approved or flagged for an update. If your profile is moved to the Corrections Needed board, please update the profile asap, and we ask that you cease playing the character until you have done so. If your character is moved to the Approved Profiles board, there's no further steps - congrats!
What are personas?
A "persona" is a separate account registered with the board that you play a character under - the account name should correspond to the character's name for ease of recognition. We do not require you make personas for every character, or even at all; you are welcome to use them, or not, at your leisure.
If you chose not to use personas, it is considered a common courtesy to link to the profile of the character you are playing in their first post in a thread.
For more information on personas/alters, and how to tie in alternate accounts with your main, please go here.
But I'm not sure about...
If you have any further questions or concerns, you are welcome to PM a moderator for clarification!
